Discovery Flight
Try a 30 minute Discovery Flight where YOU fly the airplane from takeoff to landing! You can see Columbia from above, fly over your house (depending on location), or sample an actual flying lesson.
Private Pilot
- 20 Hours with a flight instructor
- 10 Hours solo
- 10 Hours solo or with a flight instructor
- Pass a "Basic Med" Flight Physical
- Successfully complete the Private Pilot Written Exam
- Successfully complete the Private Pilot Practical Test (Oral and Flight Test with an FAA Designated Examiner)

Instrument Rating
- Hold a Private Pilot Certificate
- 50 Hours of cross country (at least 50 nautical miles between two airports) flight time as Pilot In Command
- 40 Hours of simulated or actual instrument time
- Successfully complete the Instrument Written Exam
- Successfully complete the Instrument Practical Test

Commercial Pilot
- 250 Hours of total flight time
- 100 Hours as Pilot In Command
- 50 Hours of cross country flight time
- 10 Hours of simulated or actual instrument time
- 10 Hours in a complex airplane (an airplane equipped with retractable landing gear, flaps, and a controllable pitch prop)
- Successfully complete the Commercial Pilot Written Exam
- Successfully complete the Commercial Pilot Practical Test
